Abstract
This perspective article examines topics in Human Biology applied to Nutritional Sciences within adult education, highlighting their roles in enhancing health literacy and promoting informed dietary choices among adult learners. It notes that adult educators come from various health professional backgrounds, including dieticians-nutritionists, nurses, biologists, and physicians, enriching the educational experience. Key topics discussed include integrative human biology (anatomy and physiology), metabolic pathways, nutritional biochemistry, and lifecycle nutrition, emphasizing the importance of understanding the biochemical and physiological processes involved in nutrient metabolism. This knowledge is crucial for developing effective dietary interventions tailored to diverse populations. By fostering critical thinking and practical skills, this interdisciplinary approach empowers healthcare professionals to tackle individual health challenges and advance public health initiatives.
